The top 250 French software publishers reveals healthy … – JDN

The ranking, conducted by Syntec and EY, reveals a beautiful sales growth of French software publishing. SaaS also weighs increasingly heavy.

The 2015 edition of the “Top 250 publishers and creators of French software” was published. Led by the Digital Syntec and Ernst & amp; Young and Associates, this study reveals the good momentum of the French software publishing sector. With in 2014 a combined turnover reaching € 10.5 billion, the sector grew by 17%. A much larger increase than that seen last year (6%). The top 10 French publishers are even better, with growth of 22% this year

Another notable trend: instead of increasing importance occupied by the SaaS among French software publishers. This type of offer now represents 22% of their turnover, against 17% last year. “The proportion of sales generated by SaaS is also among the most important players in less than 50 million euros in revenues, given the technical and financial constraints posed by the switch to this model,” notes the study.

The French publishers have created 15,000 jobs in 2 years

The survey also reveals the share of sales Business invested in research and development: 13% on average. But this proportion rises significantly among publishers who make fewer sales of 50 million euros they spend on average 20% of their income on R & amp; D. The share of the workforce dedicated to R & amp; D this year also reached 13.3%, against 12.1% in 2013 and 11.7% the previous year. Note that three quarters of these R & amp workforce;. D are based in France, and the proportion reached 86% for companies with fewer than 250 persons

Finally, on the employment front, the French publishers have created, according to the study, 15 000 jobs in 2 years – not only in France. And that should continue: more than 8 out of 10 publishers surveyed (82%) indicate they want to recruit this year, “a percentage that has been increasing in the last three years,” said the document, which is accompanied as of Usually the traditional ranking of publishers based on their turnover in the software edition.
