Just a few clicks and a little less than 200 euros to be had online. Easy access, good condition to use it, “Droidjack” is a little frightening software. It allows to hack remotely any device running the Android system. Tuesday, the homes of 13 users of this particular spy software have been raided by the German police announced Thursday the public prosecutor in Frankfurt, specialized in the fight against cybercrime in Germany.

A spy in your phone. To infect the phone, just send a simple text message with a link. If the victim clicks on the unsuspecting corrupted link, it’s already too late: the software is installed discreetly. Outstanding for more than a year, DroidJack retrieves contacts, photos, touted the device. More so, it can even spy on messages, retrieve bank details or to discretely activate the microphone to hear everything said the device owner without his knowledge.

A multinational investigation. Other suspects were questioned and searches carried out in Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, Great Britain and France in this European operation day Tuesday. These police actions are within the framework of a coordinated multinational investigation by European police agencies (Europol) and judicial cooperation (Eurojust).

Four arrested in France . In France, four people were arrested, placed in custody and then released. And profiles are varied: a soldier, a computer programmer, entrepreneur and social work. All computer savvy, they do not know, but each bought this software.

Why? This is what the investigators are trying to find out by analyzing computers seized from them. Indeed, most of the time, users of such programs use them to steal bank details or to blackmail and extort money from their victims.
