John McAfee, the eccentric creator of the antivirus software bearing his name, which has already in the past had problems with the law, will be the US presidential candidate in 2016.
His campaign Wednesday filed an application before the Federal Electoral Commission where he said: “I am creating a new party whose name will be announced later.”
His team created a website, a Facebook page and a Twitter account to support the nomination. According to a spokesman told AFP, an official announcement was to be made in the day Wednesday.

“In terms of ideology and objectives, it is not really related to an existing party,” he said.
