Blender, the free modeling software and open source goes into … – Developpez.com


The new version, stamped 2.74, free modeling software and open source Blender is available. Here is a description (not exhaustive) changes in this new version:

Render Cycles

  • ray / triangle intersections now indisputable. This fixes several problems and even reduces the noise of some scenes
  • a new implementation (QBVH) hierarchy of bounding volumes is available for the CPU with at least SSE2
  • optimization of scenes with a black background
  • Memory optimization model creation attributes
  • added support texturing from another object;
  • cubic interpolation of textures now available on CPU.

User Interface

  • composition effects in the viewport developed for Gooseberry were integrated (ambient occlusion and depth of field)
  • Outliner new method for displaying nodes orphaned data

    modeling

    • added support normal custom for models
    • new operator to transfer data layers from one model to a autre.

    Particules

    Sculpture

    • la random mapping is no longer blocked when using the Rake mapping
    • random mapping accepts a range for the generated values ​​
    • Support UV node cycles.

    Animation
