romand software to track cheaters – Tribune de Genève

Students who resort to “niggers” to write their work may have a harder time in the future. A software developed in Martigny is currently undergoing testing on texts of students of the Bern University of Western Switzerland (HES SO), reveals the RTS on its website. It can detect “ghostwriters”, the “ghost writers.”

The program was created by the company OrphAnalytics. It is inspired by the genome research and cutting the text into sequences of identical size. It then analyzes the effects of both style, as word length, sentence construction, etc., to give an “identity” for each segment.

According to the expert interviewed by the RTS, each individual in a writing style all its own. The software makes it possible to compare the previous work of the students with the memory “suspicious.” It also can detect if one or more persons are behind the text.

Sarkozy, the student cheat

The software was tested on particular books of François Bayrou and Nicolas Sarkozy, regularly suspected of using ghost writers. Result: the first president of the Democratic Movement (MoDem), unscathed exercise. A single person would indeed behind all his works.

However, the former French president made his appeal to “niggers”. The program has identified at least three different scripts in 6 books attributed to Sarkozy. It would have been, as part of a university, accused of cheating … (nxp)
