DNA (Digital Network Architecture): the new driven architecture … – ITRnews.com

Cisco launches its new open and extensible architecture driven software dedicated to companies: DNA (Digital Network Architecture). It is supplied as a component of the Cisco ONE Software range.

DNA Cisco brings together within a single architecture, virtualization, automation, analysis, cloud and programmability, says Rob Soderbery, senior vice president of Enterprise Products and Solutions division of Cisco. the fact that the architecture of the original are DNA (DNA in french) does not take the chance. We are changing deep network technology of DNA . ” This Cisco DNA based architecture, in fact, on five main elements:

  •  a wide virtualization allowing companies to freely run any services, wherever they want and whatever the underlying platform (physical or virtual), whether on premise or in the cloud.
  •

  •   automation services for networks and services they perform are easy to deploy and manage (which fundamentally changes the network administration method).
  •

  •   analysis data providing a better understanding of network operations, IT infrastructure and enterprise (information that only the network is able to provide.)
  •

  •   a service management provided via the cloud to unify strategy and orchestration across the network
  •

  •   the possibility of integrating Cisco technology and third party vendors, open API and developer platform to support a rich ecosystem of network applications.
  •

It also hosts several new features including:

  •   the APIC EM platform with the ability to run up to 4000 devices from a single instance.
  •

  •   Cisco Plug and Play, a zero-day automation service available on-site and managed in the cloud, which reduces deployment time.
  •

  •   Cisco Intelligent WAN, a service that automates the management and deployment IWAN.
  •

  •   Easy QoS (Easy Quality of Service), a service for updating, dynamically, the QoS settings across the network to the application rule base. With this service, IT managers can ensure that the appropriate application is a priority in order to offer users an optimal experience.
  •

Cisco also unveils three other components:

  •  Evolved Cisco IOS-XE, a network operating system with powerful features (open APIs-led models for the development of third party applications, management software-defined, application hosting, “edge computing” or abstraction from physical infrastructure for virtualization) and supporting Cisco Catalyst 3850/3650 switches, ASR 1000 and ISR 4000.
  •

  •   Evolved Cisco IOS-XE which includes Enterprise Network Function Virtualization (NFV Enterprise), a service that decouples the software and hardware gives companies the freedom to run the features of their choice wherever they want. This solution includes all the software stack (ie the virtualization infrastructure software, virtualized network functions (VNF) such as routing, firewall and WAN optimization, as well as orchestration services and controller WAN) to enable the virtualization of services subsidiary.
  •

  •   CMX Cloud that provides information about the company, including time and location information from the wireless infrastructure.
  •

Cisco DNA will be sold via the Cisco ONE Software model and allow customers to choose the platform and purchasing model that suit them. Note that on the occasion of the release of this architecture, Cisco offers a new global offering for rent a zero rate of 3 years for all products that are part of Cisco DNA. At the end of three years, three options are available to the client: keep the products, return them and update assets, or purchase them for an amount equivalent to 10% of the original purchase price
