Ian Murdock was born April 28, 1973 in West Germany, he died Monday, December 28 at the age of 42 years. Founder of the Debian project and advocate of free software, he worked for Sun Microsystems from 2007 to 2010, then for Salesforce Marketing Cloud from 2011 to 2015 and more recently for Docker November to 28 December 2015. He was also CEO Free Standards Group and president of Linux Working Group Standards Base.

The circumstances of his death are not yet clear but it had posted a tweet announcing his decision to end these days just hours before his death. For some, his account had been hacked. The suicide of the track still seems difficult to remove since in many tweets he also referred to police violence which he suffered.
