MELANI warns against malicious software “TeslaCrypt”. This “rançongiciel” steals personal data, restore the pirates against payment, says Thursday the recording and analysis center for information security.
Several hacks have been reported in recent days. Cybercriminals behind “TeslaCrypt” seize and encrypt data, preventing the victim from accessing it. They then demand money in exchange for a decryption key to retrieve this data. The transaction must take place within a time frame set by the pirates, the statement MELANI.
“rançongiciel” spread almost exclusively through malicious email attachments, as a File “.zip” containing a “.js” file. The program then encodes the files on the computer and displays a message demanding a ransom.
MELANI advises against giving in to demands of hackers because it is not guaranteed that they actually send a decoding key . It encourages users to regularly back up personal files, to be very wary of suspicious emails, keep updating its operating system and install an antivirus and a firewall.
